General English Summer School (Full Time)
On
this course you will practice Speaking, Listening, Reading and Writing
and will improve your overall level of English, while at the same time
making friends from many different countries. When you are not studying
in class you may join some of the school's organised trips and
activities.
This English classes will
help you to speak English more confidently, read and understand
different texts and write more clearly. You will follow one class
textbook and do other activities and exercises according to your
ability, needs and interests. You will have regular homework and spend
some time studying in the school reference room.
You
will study with other students from different countries, who have a
similar English level to you. The maximum class size is 8 students.
Start date
You can start this course on any Monday between 20 June and 29 August 2011.
The summer school programme runs between Monday 20 June and Friday 2 September 2011.

General English (part time – days or evenings)
Many
of our part time students are already living/working in the UK (as au
pairs, local workers, husbands or wives of people here, for example).
If you join the daytime course you will have 2 classes per week. Each
class lasts for 2 hours (4 hours per week total). If you join the
evening course you will have one class per week (2 hours).
On this course you will practice Speaking, Listening, Reading and Writing and will improve your overall level of English.
This
course will help you to speak English more confidently, read and
understand different texts, and write more clearly. You will follow a
class textbook and do other activities and exercises according to your
ability, needs and interests. You will have homework at least once each
week.
You will study with other
students from different countries, who have a similar English level to

their English, or would like to have their own private classes at the
school.

fluently, improve your listening skills, read and understand different
texts, and write more clearly (if required). You will follow a course
outline and use different books and materials, which will help to focus
each lesson on the language and skills you need to improve your overall
English quickly.

Business English
This
course is offered to individuals or small groups of students (maximum
6) at the same level. On this course we will help you to increase your
business vocabulary and practice language and communication skills you
can use immediately in your job.
You
will cover topics such as describing services and exchanging
information, attending meetings, presenting and asking for key
information, socializing with colleagues, business travel, stages of
project management and writing reports and business correspondence.
Each course will include activities and exercises to help you in your
area of business.

Exam Preparation
This
course is offered to individuals or small groups of students at the
same level. If you are planning to take an English Language Exam soon
(FCE, IELTS for example) or have booked your exam already we can offer
you a flexible course to help prepare for your test.
On
this course you will learn about the format of your exam, practice past
exam questions, and learn how to improve your answers
(speaking/writing) and your comprehension (reading and listening). You
will follow a course outline and use different books and materials
related to your exam.

this course at least a month before your exam date.

Mandarin Chinese – Beginners Evening Class
You
do not need to have any prior knowledge of Chinese to enrol for this
course. You will learn and practice communicating in Chinese (both
speaking and writing) and also learn a little about Chinese history and
culture. Classes are relaxed, informal and planned to maximize your
enjoyment of this increasingly popular modern foreign language, whilst
at the same time allowing you to make real progress in each lesson.

Mandarin Chinese – Business/1 to 1

course is offered to individuals who have more limited time to study
and improve their Chinese, or would like to have their own tailored
classes at the school. We are also able to offer our Mandarin training
to business clients who are involved in Sino-UK trade. Our resident Mandarin tutor will discuss your individual requirements with you prior to your first class and design your lessons accordingly.

Trinity College Integrated Skills in English
This
international English language exam is offered to all students enrolled
at the school in March/April each year, as well as to non students who
wish to attend the exam only. The exam is usually held in the first two
weeks of June. The Trinity College ISE exam is available to take at
different levels and tutors at the school will advise you which level
