Martin Buck - Director, EFL Tutor

BA Hons, PGCE (Further and Higher Education)

I started my EFL career over ten years ago with Voluntary Service Overseas, teaching English and Methodology at a teacher training college in North West China. Since then I have worked in Further and Higher Education, both in the public and private sector.

Spending three years living and working in a different country has really given me an insight into the challenges faced by our own students here in the UK, and also the huge benefits that learning a foreign language can bring.

As a teacher I have gained experience teaching general, business, IT and exam preparation courses for a variety of different groups and age ranges. Reflecting on my own experience in the EFL market I believe the friendly and professional team here at Sale Language School represent the best quality language tuition available.

Ernie Buck - Activities Co-ordinator, EFL Tutor

Originally trained in telecommunications, I taught that subject for a total of nine years. After a considerable period spent in management positions, I went back into the pedagogic realm and taught management as a free-lance trainer, working for The Open University, a number of Training & Enterprise Councils, numerous government departments and private industry.

I qualified as a Teacher of English to Speakers of other Languages (TESOL) at Sheffield University in 1991 and have lived and worked in many parts of the world including USA, Saudi Arabia and post apartheid South Africa. I've recently completed a seventeen month, 20,000 km cycle ride around the world. Sale Language School's greatest asset is its caring ethos; it sets out to give students exactly what they want.

Carrie Wei - Exams Officer, Resident Mandarin Tutor

I have been teaching, translating and interpreting in the UK for the last 8 years. Before that I worked as an English Language teacher in China. I have worked with many college students and sixth form pupils here in Manchester, teaching beginners Chinese and GCSE/A Level, and also local businesses, training staff for specific dealings with China, or acting as interpreter for companies' visiting Chinese colleagues.

At the moment I am studying a Masters and co writing a business Chinese textbook. I think Sale Language School is a great place to start your Mandarin training, whether you are just learning for fun or want to improve and expand your business opportunities in China.

Wendy Cartwright - Principal EFL Tutor

With a background in teaching, Wendy has recently transfered her talents to the EFL classroom. She enjoys meeting students from all over the world, and sharing life skills and experiences.
